Founder, President & CEO
Brian is a builder at heart, both in business and in life. As the leader of NNI Construction, he’s had the privilege of helping brands scale nationwide, completing more than 400 fitness facilities across the country and 200 more retail and commercial projects. His philosophy has always been simple: combine national vision with local precision. That balance allows him and his team to deliver projects that not only meet brand standards but also make a positive impact in the communities we serve.
But beyond the hard hats and job sites, Brian’s greatest pride is his family. He’s a father or 3 and everything he does in business is rooted in the values he carries at home — commitment, trust, and building a foundation for the future. Brian’s family keeps him grounded, gives him perspective, and reminds him why it matters to do things the right way.
Today, Brian is not just focused on construction. He’s also passionate about innovation — creating digital tools to make project management smarter, more efficient, and more connected. It’s about scaling together, whether with his team, his clients, or his family, and building something that lasts.
Geoff Protz
Partner, Chief Operating Officer
With nearly two decades of experience in the construction industry, Geoff began his career in New York City’s demanding high-end residential market, where he developed a sharp eye for detail and the ability to manage fast-paced, complex projects. He later expanded into retail buildouts before joining NNI Construction in Cleveland. Since then, Geoff has advanced from Project Manager to Director of Construction and now Partner, becoming an integral leader who is deeply committed to delivering quality and building lasting client relationships.
Beyond his professional role, Geoff values time with his family, embracing family life as his most important foundation. He is also a passionate musician who plays drums in a band, finding joy in the rhythm, creativity, and collaboration that music brings—qualities he carries into his leadership at NNI.
Danielle Petroc
Vice President, Preconstruction
Danielle Petroc has been with NNI since its founding, playing an instrumental role in shaping how the company approaches pre-construction. Over the past eleven years, she has built NNI’s pre-construction process from the ground up—establishing the foundation for how projects are estimated, planned, and delivered with consistency and trust.
As Vice President of Pre-Construction, Danielle leads the team she developed, working closely with estimating and development leaders to ensure seamless project execution long before work begins in the field. Her vision, experience, and leadership have guided NNI through every phase of growth, making her a cornerstone of the company’s success.
Outside of work, Danielle is dedicated to her family, a value that influences the way she leads—with care, balance, and a long-term perspective that strengthens both her team and the projects they deliver.
Alex Toth
Vice President, Finance
Alex joined the NNI Construction team in August 2021as Controller, overseeing the accounting team and functions as well as financial reporting and analysis. Growing up in the Cleveland area, Alex worked as a Financial Analyst on the west coast for Precision Castparts before moving back to Ohio. He also previously worked for University Hospitals and Eaton in Cleveland.
Graduating from Marietta College with degrees in both Finance and Economics, Alex is always looking for ways to leverage technology and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy while maintaining a focus on people. He also earned his MBA from Baldwin Wallace University in 2019. In his free time, Alex enjoys golfing and still attempts to play in adult baseball leagues when his arm will allow it. He currently lives in downtown Cleveland, going to as many Guardians, Cavs and Browns games as possible
Amie Matlock
Vice President, Employee Experience
Amie is NNI Construction’s Vice President of Employee Experience, leading efforts to strengthen culture, boost engagement, and support organizational growth. She brings more than 12 years of leadership experience with Yum! Brands, where she held roles in both Operations and Human Resources at Taco Bell and KFC, ultimately serving as National HR Leader for KFC U.S. Her expertise in talent development, organizational effectiveness, and leadership coaching enables her to align people strategies with business goals.
Amie holds both an MBA and a Master’s in Human Resources, fueling her passion for training, development, and team building as drivers of high-performing, inclusive workplaces. Outside of work, she is dedicated to her family, a balance that inspires her belief that strong relationships—whether at home or at work—are the foundation of lasting success.
